“Kids … they just break my heart!

If you think you life as adult is tough, try to be in a child’s shoes, living the puberty changes, some they can control and others no, the beard, the voice, the belly, the hair, the period, the height, weight, the looks, height, weight… try facing the bully, the my friend or no friends, the pain, the tears…

I MEAN TRY REMEMBERING!

Were you ever bullied, were you ever the bully, or were you the bystander?

Each breaks my heart, the victim for understanding that being bullied is not their fault, they just happened to be at the place the wrong time; the bully for energizing on the pain they cause others, and being able to continue their life despite that; & last, the bystander who feels they have the right to watch silently, turning the blind eye on, and sealing their ears from hearing others’ pain snd scream for help!”

#MOI I sometimes wonder which one of the three will end up an emotional timed bomb in their community?!

I invite you to read MOMMY, I AM A PACER! alone first then with your child. Remember how you once felt, how your child feels now, and then pass them the 5 short stories, let them express their feelings following Abigail’s footsteps in being change agents in their community, and ambassadors of peace for the next generations!

Welcome back to school… but is it a welcome back for your child?

The story of every year, the circle of childhood, friendship, & what goes in those minds?!

Sadly the truth, and whom among us was not bullied, or left behind!

I believe it is part of growing in the land where children have to take on that phase alone and overcome it!

Lucky are those noticed by adults, and luckier are those who can stand for themselves, but the luckiest are those who can face the bullies, support the victims, and decide not to remain bystanders!

Which one is your child?

Do you discuss friendship with them?

Do you discuss new comers with them?

Do you discuss those with disabilities with them?

Do you discuss childhood? Friendship? Acceptance? Support? Group play? Keeping an eye on others? Not leaving any child behind?

Well, Abigail will help!

Read MOMMY, I AM A PACER! with your child, it will give examples of what children go through and survive on daily basis. Five short stories inspired by reality…

Enjoy, save and protect your child and others.

Welcome to every day world of children and probably adults!

“The boy staring outside the window,

The mother looks at him,

The boy staring outside the window and smiling,

The mother looks at him and wonder,

The boy staring outside the window and smiling, he closes his eyes and….

The mother looks at him and wonder, then approached him,

The boy staring outside the window and smiling, he closes his eyes and tears dropped down his cheeks,

The mother looks at him and wonder, then approached him, wiped his tears and started crying herself!

What is wrong my son,

I am dreaming, the child answers,

It is daytime my son, she says,

I dream of nice friends when I am awake, because in real world, my friends hurt me!”

#MOI Did you ever wonder about childhood, how painful children could be to each other?

When children prefer dreaming of beautiful friends during the day than playing with those friends!

Those who touch our heart…

“Those who touch our heart…
Today was very special, I don’t if I ever told you, I used to work in a school, those among you who read my book would know, I was the director of the middle school, and generation after generation, I watched those kids grow physically, emotionally, mentally, I watched them overcome personal issues, those they bring from home and explode them on other kids, and other issues they develop due to facing others’.
Bullying was at the heart of the middle school, name it, it was there, physical, sarcasm, belittling others, isolation, on social media, in messages, among friends, you are my friend or will have no friends, and the list is still at the beginning.
I always felt that in the circle of the bullying crime, you have to cure the bully before the bystander and before the victim, since in my opinion, I viewed pain crawling out of him/her to feed their anger and dilemma; the bystanders represent a higher number among the crowd, they need time to build enough character to stand for themselves and others; and last the victims, although bullying hurts, but when surrounded by the right people, they will eventually heal their wounds, once they understand that bullies act out of weakness and pain rather than themselves being weak and wrong!
I used to call bullying the vicious circle… it is a long story.

Anyways, among the many I witness grow, there was this one child, who really had it bad! I and many around me worked very hard to help, unfortunately, he had to leave the school, and go struggle abroad, between his split parents. His departure broke my heart, I knew, at times we can only help a little, but as well I knew, that at least we were his serene community!
Days went by, and his news was only fading away, but he was always on my mind, and I always wondered whether he was able to find himself in the harsh world that he was born in.

I learned at least one lesson per day during school days, except this child taught me many!
Today, as I was in a coffee shop, trying to rest, this gentleman approached me, and said, Miss Badiaa, I am, I didn’t let him finish, I recognized him on the spot, I hugged him, and tears shed… he did succeed after a long struggle, he made it, and I thanked God for crossing his path with mine to put my mind at ease!

Dear parents, readers, and educators,
parents, try to keep your conflicts away from your children,
readers, this school was and still is among the best in the world, no we were not exclusive with bullying issues if you don’t know, every child goes through that cycle,
and educators, always remember that your role is far beyond the book!”

To this child, id you ever get across this article, as I told you this afternoon, I am so proud of you!”
#MOI the Author of Mommy I am a PACER! inspired by my days at school, when I was privileged to learn from those children and serve them to reach better days!

“Save your child from being a bully because forever and ever he/she will live in regret, pain, and shame.

Yes bullies hurt others but bullies must be clinically treated for being able to hurt others cold blooded and move on with their life.

What makes an innocent child develop into a bully…

Endless questions.

Save your child, and every other child from your child!

Say NO to bullying!”

“Yesterday, a child told me, I prefer to eat alone in class!

I looked at the child and said, how about you join me on a picnic in the school small grass area, as I, myself, would like some quiet time during break.

I did not ask why, I thought he will eventually speak up when comfortable…

I did not ask what do you have for lunch, thinking what if that was the reason behind wanting to be alone…

I did not force any other students to join, I was sure, once they see us, they will join…

We got artistic material and went to the grass area, others started crawling once they saw us, out of curiosity…

I opened a blanket on the grass, where I put some snacks on, then asked the students whether they like to join in by placing their own…

& we started putting together paper kites…

Before the end of the break, all children had eaten, and all were part of the kite group, playing, laughing, and talking to each other…”

Is your child ready for school?

“Is your child ready for school?
Believe it or not, this is an anxious phase for every child; and getting our children ready is by far more difficult than we believe.
I agree with the statement saying <<kids need to outgrow their difficulties>> but let me remind you of the adult first day of work… not a piece of cake!
Between the outfit, hairstyle, physical changes for those returning to school, the academic abilities, the physical and language challenges, the friendships, the new comers fit in concerns, puberty changes… children, whether we like to admit it or not, would have to face the my friends or no friends, the loud and outspoken, the bullies, the memories and past experience, and would have to find a way to prove themselves.
Sadly, this is school, and not all are equipped, whether parents, children, and/or educators, to help properly.
I included children in the help part, as I believe that children play a major role in the comfort of others in their community, they can make it or break it!
Advise, and would like to hear your stories, do not ignore any withdrawal symptoms you sense, this could be the beginning of a series of emotional, physical, and academic improvement.
Yes, our child could be the victim, bully, or sadly a bystander!
As every member of any community, this member must be equipped with values that enable him/her to be the change in their community, to make a change without fear, to be a leader and an ambassador of peace.
I believe that change will start with one person, it is contagious, but the support mechanism is evidential to move it forward.

Dear colleagues in the process, join me to make this world a better place for our children, state your opinion, share a story, share your experience, and feel free to get the help of Abigail, the main character in MOMMY, I AM A PACER!.”

He wasn’t just a little boy…

“He wasn’t just a little boy, that boy in the class. I watched him grow and witnessed him struggle, but, I stood there watching!

It is the story, the story of bullying, not only written words in a book, or scenes taking place in a movie…. bullying is the reality our children live on a daily basis.

Observe your children’s behavior, the changes in pattern, in dress code, their eating habits, the playing routine, their friendship… bullies will not admit their actions, victims shall not confirm the pain, and bystanders will live with regret!

The bullying disease that took over for generations, will not stop overnight… where does your child fall, under which category? Can you encourage them to speak up?
You may be able to protect them periodically, but the change should happen from within!

The rule of “you are my friend. or will have no friend!” is the statement that we need to push our children to stop using…
The statement of “you cannot attend my birthday” when a whole class is invited except few, is in the hand of adults to set the tone to their children by saying, you either invite the class or only a few, and remember the birthday is a memory for our children to enjoy and not to tease the left outs…
The sarcastic attitude that intimidates a child and humiliates them is forbidden, our child might be outspoken, beautiful, with high skills in academics or physical activities, but the other children have special abilities as well…

Let us help our children take pride in self for what they have and do, but be humble enough to praise others for their achievements and help them reach their potential.
Call it teamwork, call it integrity, honesty, loyalty, respect, responsibility, humility, empathy, compassion, agility, perseverance, humility, fairness… I call it, help them become a PACER!

Mommy, I am A PACER! is a book of 5 short stories for parents and children. The book targets the incidents children survive on a daily basis, and help them, through co-illustration with the author, solve them and freely discuss them when they see the main character Abigail go through the same incidents.

Life is not a book, but at times knowing that someone knows how we feel will help us acknowledge, express, and deal with our own feelings. Hope you get to have your own
and help your child change and be the change in his/her community following ABIGAIL’s footsteps.”
