book reading Mommy, I am a PACER!
Part 1 of the story “Friends are Special!”
By Badiaa Hiresh

Meet Abigail. Abigail is a girl who’s made a difference in her community by becoming a PACER, but what is a PACER? A PACER is a person who exhibits perseverance, agility, clarity, empathy, and respect. In this collection of short stories, each book represents one of the letters of the word PACER and its attributed characteristics.

Join Abigail as she perseveres in welcoming new members into her community, demonstrates her ability to make quick and successful decisions, learns to resolve conflicts by talking openly and honestly with others, and so much more! Mommy, I’m a PACER encourages children to adopt the attitude of a PACER and teaches them how to interact with others and react positively to many different day-to-day situations.

“Let’s re-write history, my friends…
Let’s replace hatred with love…
Let’s restore peace…
Let’s ensure no one sleeps hungry…
Let’s accept each other…
Let’s work on our children…
Let’s stop abuse, bullying, & pain…
Let’s have them differentiate between right and wrong…
Let’s build a better tomorrow… for you, for me, and for many generations to come!”
#MOI heartbroken over pain around the world, can you help!

“Kids … they just break my heart!

If you think you life as adult is tough, try to be in a child’s shoes, living the puberty changes, some they can control and others no, the beard, the voice, the belly, the hair, the period, the height, weight, the looks, height, weight… try facing the bully, the my friend or no friends, the pain, the tears…

I MEAN TRY REMEMBERING!

Were you ever bullied, were you ever the bully, or were you the bystander?

Each breaks my heart, the victim for understanding that being bullied is not their fault, they just happened to be at the place the wrong time; the bully for energizing on the pain they cause others, and being able to continue their life despite that; & last, the bystander who feels they have the right to watch silently, turning the blind eye on, and sealing their ears from hearing others’ pain snd scream for help!”

#MOI I sometimes wonder which one of the three will end up an emotional timed bomb in their community?!

I invite you to read MOMMY, I AM A PACER! alone first then with your child. Remember how you once felt, how your child feels now, and then pass them the 5 short stories, let them express their feelings following Abigail’s footsteps in being change agents in their community, and ambassadors of peace for the next generations!

Let’s assume we decide to ignore both, can we really trust again?

Well, in war, there are only enemies… but in peace, there is no place for war!”

#MOI I rest my case, bring the pieces to peace!

About Mommy I am a PACER!

#PACER, #Peace, blogging, change, ChildrenBook, UNICEF

Abigail is a girl who made a difference in society by being a PACER. Each book represents one of the letters of the word PACER and the attributed characteristic and discusses a specific value that I invite children to acquire, in addition to a day-to-day situation they live. Through these books, children will learn how to deal with different situations.
So Abigail, the main character, showed Perseverance (Book 1) by persisting in her efforts until the dog and his owner felt comfortable and welcome in the new community they moved to and gained many friends;
She showed Agility (Book 2) by being ready for change, able to preview others’ actions and make quick and successful decisions;
She showed Clarity (Book 3) by resolving her conflicts with her friends through talking openly and honestly;
She showed Empathy (Book 4) by recognizing that Joseph was having difficulties and by taking action to help him with these difficulties;
She showed Respect (Book 5) by acknowledging and accepting key strength in each of her friends.
Abigail invites each child to join her and become a PACER.

“It is said that the most successful step towards the future starts with a WE, I say there is no WE without an effective I!
It is I, that will take the first step towards change…
It is I, that will solve conflicts by choosing the way I react to incidents…
It is I, that plants the 1st seed of Peace …
because…
I know that actions are contagious…
I believe that people are beautiful…
I know that deep inside, WE ALL WANT BEAUTY AND PEACE…
& last, inside every WE, there is an I like me!”
