The “I DO” thought

“The <I do> thought is the dream of all girls, it starts at young age, it’s about the dress, the ring, the veil, the flowers, the music, the first dance, the cake, the crowd…
It’s the vision of the prince, on the white horse, the kiss, the way he held my hand, the way he grabbed me on the dancing floor…
Sometimes it goes beyond, to the dream of the house, the garden, the walk-in closet, the car…
The girls grow, reality falls in, like darkness some of their nights become lightless, and like the thunders in the skies their dreams start turning foggy and their priorities changing…

With time, the dream starts turning into reality, and the glamourous I DO turns into LET’S BE TOGETHER.
Simple, the dream of eternal love will dress a different gown, white it shall remain, but the prince becomes real, and the first dance will have a different music…

The difference between the dream of a young girl and the reality when grown, is that true love after the many heartbreaking experiences, that girl will learn that true love does not mean eternal peace, but rather standing by each other to reach it.
We, people, men, and women, are different, but we all want love, a hand to hold when we share the pillow at night, and an I DO!”

#MOI When the dream becomes about the person and not the wedding, we can simply build a home instead of a house!

The truth about that feeling…

“The truth about that feeling… I admit.

I do admit that I want Love,
I do admit that I want to be loved,
I do admit that I want to offer my love,
But… do we dare, again!

At a specific age, we look at love differently, whether offered or received,
we treat love differently.
At a specific age, we reach a point of no shyness, we learn to speak up,
to ask for what we want and what we need, and we learn to offer beyond our standard norm.
At a specific age, we appreciate time, and start being appreciative of every step.
At a specific age, we learn that love is physical, emotional, and attitude.
At a specific age, we learn that the next one should have the know-how.
At a specific age, we want to be treated the way we want, the way we deserve, and the way we like.
At a specific age, we want love, again, our way.”

When I lose…

“When I lose control, or I lose creativity…
Occasionally, yes it happens.
I was born ready, active, in action, in charge, & behind. What does behind means? Well, you will figure it out throughout!
Childhood, is a very important phase, where children need time to grow, develop, and play… they need to take time to shower, dress, eat, play, stare at the void, speak to their imaginary friend, and…
Adolescence… I don’t remember, I can state the characteristics if you want, but to be honest, it’s a forgotten phase!
Young adults… I believe I blocked that phase!
Married, being a mom was the favorite time of my life. I think I wanted to live the time I never had, as I lost my mother when she was having me at birth time, therefore, I ached to being a mom and making the best memorable moments for both myself and my daughters!
Throughout, I wanted to succeed, I wanted to make them happy, and be happy!
I barely remember a full night sleep, I barely remember sitting and enjoying my time without planning the day after, or making plans, I barely remember dreaming because I was always on short term list DOING!
But what happened to me? I feel I lost control, I feel I lost my creativity, I feel I live in the phase after ground zero when all you hear is the echoes of a life that is pending…

I guess I need a break, I need serenity, I need internal reassurance that the future is a new phase, requiring my new me to dare and snap out, requiring a step towards the a new day.
Am I ready? Well, yes, full heartedly!
Am I starting today? Well, I believe the day is coming soon, but today I will be having a TV & Pizza day!”

#MOI Trusting self has never been a problem to me, but trusting others…

She used to brush my hair…

“She used to brush my hair, I said, that was so important, it was our mommy daughter bonding time.

I recall the touch of her hand with every brushstroke,
I recall the feeling,
I recall her tenderness,
I recall the way her eyes shone with happiness while doing so,
I recall… No I don’t, it was my wish!

I never met my mother, she passed… she is in a different place, a better place I like to think, she never had the chance to brush my hair, but I did feel her hand rubbing my hair through her belly.
Brushing the hair is a symbol although a fact, I had the privilege of brushing my daughters’ hair, it was the satisfaction and a reward for missing that part while performing that action, the role of being a mom. It is precious, meaningful, irreplaceable… it is the mother, it is the hair brushing bond!

When did you brush your daughter’s hair last, there is no age limit…”

It’s only retirement…

“It’s only retirement they said… but in fact no it is not!

The dream of retirement might be the nightmare for many, and in my opinion, retirement should not be a decision based on age, rather based mental and physical potential, and partially the opinion of the bearer.

It is a dilemma! Just when people, they, celebrate your departure from the institution, thinking they are celebrating the end of an era, which in many aspects of this world it means the beginning of the golden age where you need to enjoy and celebrate your life, it does drag many downhill, especially, individuals with long history of work.

At times, having a career relates to the social activity of one person, it is not always a crucial financial side. Therefore, in my opinion, retirement at times could be telling active people, active socially, physically, and mentally, tomorrow put your mind and self at ease and rest, and start a new life!

Did anyone ever consider the meaning of not having a purpose for the day?
Did anyone ever wonder about the mental setback this might cause a person?
Did anyone ever wonder whether a transitional mechanism should be created?
Did anyone ever consider asking the individuals at the golden age, where they see themselves assisting in the institution they served and helped building?

Let me tell you, gratitude does not come in a paycheck, it comes, at times, it comes in valuing and showing respect to the presence of others!”

Are you ready for change?

“Are you ready for change… or change is needed?
It is a question one asks self many times along the course of life, whether in relationships, business, or life itself, the question will pop up like a foot pop when passionately kissing.

How can I see the resemblance?
Well, when one lives the routine of life for a long time, and the maximum affections she receives on daily basis is the presence of a person under the roof, in this case any attention will be welcome not for trahison but to revive the butterflies in the stomach, a feeling that revives a dead corp, as I always say.
& that my friends, is a change that is always needed…
In relationships, I tell you, keep those butterflies flying with your partner.
A word, a kiss on the forehead, a coffee, the favorite piece of cake reminding them that you know and you care, a flower, anything, anytime, and don’t wait for special occasions!
In business, I tell you, keep the team active, motivated… keep things renovated, include retreats, activities, awards… make little competitions, praise people… Invite speakers, international people, exchange cultures… give the employees one at a time, occasional treats and/or an hour off. Open up to new ideas, and development, accept the knowledge of others!
In life, I tell you, it is the combination of the above… dare to ride new waves, dare to dream while awake, dare to embark on new journeys.
People are interesting creatures, they can all contribute to your life. Enjoy it and live the adventures!”

The pain is not stopping… Beirut Blast August 4, 2020

alive, Beirut blast, ground zero, life, living, painful, wreckage

The pain is not stopping… Oh if you can see what I am seeing right now!
I am standing in the middle of ground zero where Beirut Blast of August 4, 2020 took place at 6:08 EEST… Should I say more, no words can describe the disaster!
In our culture we say, may it be mentioned and never happen again, in steel and not in souls, at least you are among the living… all true, but are those people living and alive?!
Are those people, the ones picking up the wreckage of their homes, living and alive?
Are those people, the ones hanging plastic on their doors and windows so they can sleep in, living and alive?
Are those people, the ones dragging their mattress by the main door of the house to sleep at night fearing burglars would rob the rest of their belongings, living and alive?
Are those people, the ones walking, who lost a family member whom their blood is still staining the walls as they walk around the house, living or alive?
Are those people, the ones without a full roof above their head, living or alive?
Are those people, the women who lost a husband while waiting for him to join for dinner, living or alive?
Are those people, the children who lost a parent, living or alive?
Are those people, the children who lost their favorite blanket, toy, outfit… living or alive?
Are those people, the families that lost the walls that were keeping them safe, the car that was driving them to work, the hand that was patting them reassuring them that all will be okay, living or alive?
Are those people, name it, close your eyes and see it, living or alive?

Well, they are breathing, but are they living or alive?!
Well, they are those people, but are they treated as humans?
Well, where is the human conscience of the people behind the blast!
Those people are probably living in a House but will it ever be Home again?!”
#MOI standing on ground zero of Beirut Blast August 4, 2020 @ 6:08 EEST, standing in the heart of my hometown, standing with pain aching my heart, a pain that is not getting any less, and wondering, will this hometown ever be home again?!
