“The letting go phase is tough, let go through the breakdown… Mother & Baby, when stopping the breastfeeding and feeling guilty for weaning the baby; and baby taking the time to adjust… Mother & Toddler, going to the daycare, when both need that break and not able to let go… Mother and child, when the child goes to school, and then again having difficulty adjusting… Mother and adolescent, when the teenager wishes their parents would go invisible for a while, giving them room to spread their wings… Mother and young adult, when the boyfriend and/or girlfriend pops on board, and then we as parent, want to take charge, and have them avoid any heartbreak… Let’s involve the dad, parent and child, they go to college, and we look around, they want to choose the country, major, and life… when none needs our opinion much, they accept it or ask for it out of respect, but…
We accept all, swallow all, digest all, until one day, they come through that door, and ask that boyfriend or girlfriend, what do you think, and then, forget to look at us for consent, and we have to accept and expect more so we don’t lose them… yes that child exists no more, and had moved on and away… Life!” #MOI wishing that child would teach me now how to let go! “Can you feel my happiness… yes, happy, and want to share it with the world. To begin with, I, Badiaa, the woman, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, at my age, I still believe in Santa Clause, in other words, in miracles; I believe in Karma; I believe in letting go; I believe in focusing on the good in people; I believe in second chances; I believe in many things, but this is not why I am happy….
This is why I can be happy, I do not hold grudges, I do not waste my time on the dark side, and the grey fogs in between sunrises; but again, this is not why I am happy…
I am happy because at the end of this coming week, I will be holding someone precious to my heart, someone that had to be distant from me due to the economical and COVID-19 situations, and I miss so much.
I am happy, because I survived those 9 months away from her, and the funny part, those 9 months remind me of the time I was waiting for her to be born… they were not easy as well! So here is what I tell myself, I am blessed with a personality where I allow myself to be happy… Thank you, God, for this gift!” #MOI Happy! Can you feel my happiness?
Badiaa’s year in review, yes, my year in review, another birthday, another day, but never the same… In fact, it is an emotional day to me, and has always been. As I lost my most precious person on this day, the day of my birth, but with time, and as I grew older, I started celebrating life on this day, learning how precious life is! A question I asked myself… why is it that no relationship lasts? I cannot see myself as a duo, I cannot hold someone’s hand for long, I cannot keep near someone and sleep tight…

You forgot to speak for yourself, and probably were in a situation where you couldn’t…
Sometimes the fear is so strong that we cannot face it, or think we cannot. At that moment, we lack confidence under the attack of the abuser thinking they are the sole carer for our future that we fear raising our voice and speaking our mind.
So am I damaged goods? No I am not, no you are not.
We are are simply under the spell of the abuser, waiting for that moment when we gain our strength, confidence, and take charge of our life although with fear but it will take just a moment to knock that firewall we are hiding behind…
We will, We shall, because we are not alone and I know because I was once there, on the other side!”

For a special man on his special day… What is your age?!
As children, we play, we laugh, we run around and loud… As teenagers, we start thinking and planning, we dream… Before we know it, we are young adults, and feel responsible… Before we know it, life strikes us with responsibilities, some we adopt and others we embrace… & then, like the days of the week, life repeats itself, but the dates become different… Like a book we read again, situations are identical, but our views, perceptions and reactions become different… & That is life… day, week, year, decade after decade, it scrolls but… Is age measured but the number of days lived so far, or…
We live in a rush, we rush to succeed, we succeed to provide, we provide to ensure continuity, we ensure continuity because we want our loved ones to live happy, happily, and happier but… What is your age…
Your age… it is the number of memories you lived, it is the number of smiles you lived, it is the number of happy thoughts you had, it is the number of hurdles you survived, it is the number of advices you gave, it is the number of tears you wiped for others, it is the number of hands you held for people to stand again, it is the number of steps you walked people through, It is the number of… blessings and faithful moments you had… So what is your age? Count your blessings… So what is your age? For some people, they don’t have time to count… it’s the blessings of others around them to count it for them!
