“The working, mom…
Good morning Mommies, what a great feeling!
Today is my youngest birthday, she is turning 26! No longer young I guess, but I feel selfish thinking about myself on this day, what can I say!

To begin with, let me tell you, according to many around me, they all say I have done a great job raising my daughters, they turned out…
I am simply not mentioning how they turned out, although I am very proud of their achievements, both, today, I like to discuss, #MOI, the working mom.

Seriously, being a woman, a mom, a working mom, is not easy!
& please note that I have super, great respect for the 24-hours non-working moms, I believe they are on non-break, no-relief time, they are on an ongoing mission.

To me, work was not negotiable, whether I needed it for financial security or not, I loved working, I loved the early wake up to go to work, I loved the stressful day, and since I can remember, I used to work, as a workaholic!
As well, having a family and being a mom has always been a priority and a dream that I would never let go of.
So, my life, my life on the go, my life during the ups and downs of marriage, my life at work, and my life as a mom… they rolled like a roller coaster with no regret to any.
A marriage that gave me two daughters…
A marriage that ended up with a divorce…
A career where I succeeded, a career that I have developed, a true pride to me, but was not the favor of my marriage partner… Was it among the leads to the divorce, probably, but when I evaluated the situation, especially that it was not one of the elements I would jeopardize, I had to keep it as one of the basic entities towards my future.

As a working woman, I learned to that I needed to stand in a skirt but feel that I am wearing a suit, I learned not to fear the suits around me, and not allow them to intimidate me, I learned to stand my grounds… but wait, isn’t this what a woman should do at home, with her husband, and as a mom… probably not all I said applies to you all, but many men try to intimidate women at home and at the work field, many try to say the first and last word, and many try to overpower women simply for the purpose of gender inequality, and, while this, to me, shows great inferiority!
As a woman, I love strong women, I love when a woman shows sparkling spirit in the society, I love when a woman shows strength and confidence, to me it means she is well supported emotionally, she is seen with a bold eye, respected, and loved.
As a mom, whether working or not, the respect to this person is immense. No words can ever describe this person’s life. It is not about a line of duty, it is rather about what this person thinks starting when bearing their child, the fear she has to outcome during sickness, child’s emotional malaise, during growing phases, love and unhappy phases, and during every day I guess, I tell you, talking about the load of men in uniform, this person is wearing a uniform called motherhood!

So, connecting those together to reach the working woman, and dissociating them to the initial starting point, the woman, I salute you every step of the way, I salute the giving spirit, I salute the fighting spirit you have in the work field and as a mom, the spirit you raise in the children, the leaders of tomorrow, I salute your smile despite the worry, and the ongoing strength despite what is happening inside your life, and mainly…. hear this, hear me clearly, I SALUTE THE MAN THAT DARES TO STAND BY YOU, BE THE POWER BEHIND YOU, AND SHADOW YOU!

#MOI Cheers to you all!

Author Interview, author's words, Book, feminine, message from the author, reading options

Today is not about #MOI or my books; Today is about a rising author!

Being an internationally published author, an active blogger, and a social media advocate. My followers are real, and I believe in working together via different means to provide and see change taking place with fellow authors.
During the confinement, I launched my I channel on YouTube, where I conducted live interviews with over 60 guests to entertain my audience but mainly to promote online businesses and raise continuous awareness about different topics; & here is where the idea of promoting authors came from.
Therefore I invited authors to join me, with simple interviews to introduce them to the world, and help them get their voice heard, in the hoping that one of the clicks will be the magic button to their success!

Join me to congratulate TRACEY FLETCHER for her book, don’t forget to like the post and write your review if you have a chance to read their book

My name and pen name is Tracey Chizoba Fletcher.

The asin number for Amazon Kindle is B08HWWRV19

The asin number for Amazon Print is B08HTM69ZF

Book Title is Feminine Shades

Publishing date for print is September 12, 2020

Publishing date for kindle is September 11, 2020

Publisher is Phoenix Award Books Publication (PABPUB)

About the Author

Tracey Chizoba Fletcher, born to a British father and a Nigerian mother, lives in Lagos, Nigeria. She is an Author, International award-winning writer, Columnist, Voice-over artist, and Editor.  She won the Afritondo Alternative Ending Competition in 2019, and has a short story “Chudi’s Hustle” published on their platform. Her novella, The Chase, was shortlisted for the Phoenix Quill Writing Contest. She was recently awarded “Best Selling Author” by the Influential Writers and Authors Community. She is the Author of Feminine Shades.

SYNOPSIS OF FEMININE SHADES BY TRACEY CHIZOBA FLETCHER

The first story, “Rising from Ashes”, portrays Nneka’s journey to empowerment. Having come from an impoverished background, without any support from her father, she leaves her father’s house with her mother, who can no longer withstand domestic violence, and arrives in her grandfather’s house. Her grandfather marries her off to an older man, Agwu, who treats her like a slave. In a fit of rage, she accidentally kills Agwu, and is left at the mercy of the justice system. However, a non-governmental organization come to her rescue, and plead her case. The organization provide shelter and support, and Nneka is able to develop the strength and courage to visit her past in order to find healing and closure, and move a step ahead by training to become to a software developer.

The protagonist in “Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown” is Maureen. She is a career-woman, wife, and mother. She however struggles to find her self-worth, as her capabilities are questioned after giving birth to her first child; in her home as a wife and mother, and in her office when she returns after maternity leave. She battles with her emotions, until she comes to an understanding that only a queen can have battles, and fight to overcome them.

The protagonist in “E go Beta!” is Mama Ekene, a widow, who lost her husband when her children where very young. Now in her 50’s, she tries to keep hope alive, and seeks a better tomorrow in the midst of hardships faced by herself and her children.

Ezinne in “On the 28th” is an undergraduate, studying to become a microbiologist. She derails when the three high class ladies in her department, befriend her, and introduce her to a billionaire. She finds herself lost in his seduction, and doesn’t realize the trap he has set, until he deflowers her, and becomes incommunicado. The fact that she could be pregnant, brings her to her knees. It’s a long road to placing her feet back on the ground, as she painfully waits for her period to show its face again.

“Yellow Pawpaw” walks us through the life of Nkem, a depressed spinster, who decides to bleach her skin, in order to gain attention from the opposite sex, in her bid to find a husband. Her new endeavour leaves her almost penniless, with her business failing, and her skin getting damaged due to the harsh chemicals she uses, even as her plan to be married doesn’t seem successful. A neighbor comes to her aid, to help her rediscover and love herself again.

“My Doppelganger” features two female characters: Amaka, a Nigerian girl, and Debbie, an Amercan, as they wade through 14 years of friendship, to overcome societal and racial differences, to become bbf’s; and work together to achieve their dream of becoming lawyers, and owning their free legal advice clinic.

“Ada” is the story of Ada, the first female child of the Obi’s, as she lives up to her responsibilities, shouldering and taking care of her parents and siblings. She is rewarded with a good marriage, and a husband, willing to reward her for all the sacrifices she has made.

Word from the heart to the reader:

Feminine Shades is a collection of seven short stories central to the female gender, depicting the inward strength and courage of the female protagonists.

Each story has a message both for the male and female gender. It’s time for the silent voices of the women folk to be heard. It’s time for the men in our lives to really “SEE” what we endure on a daily basis. It’s time for a woman to be respected, supported, and loved. It’s time for a change!

Join me to congratulate M.A Amru for his book, don’t forget to like the post and write your review if you have a chance to read their book

TODAY’S AUTHOR
Author’s full name & Pen Name if available:
M.A Amru
International Standard Book Number – ISBN:   9798588055444
Book title: First Under Heaven

Publishing date & Publisher: Self-published, publishing this year, currently in Kickstarter mode!

About the Author:
A bit about myself: Born in Singapore, I started to be interested in writing when I first got hold of books during Primary school, and from there on, I have many creative ideas that I wanted to pen down and let others read because I really want my work to inspire people to have their own creative ideas and perhaps even write interesting books. When I write, I want to tell a story, and also I do want more people to delve into books because I feel that books are really something that we can enjoy and take us away from this world and into another. Science fiction is one way to do so.

Book Synopsis:
Humanity has reached the stars without our own acknowledgement. Centuries of humanity in the coast of the stars paved for civilization greater than ours. Now amidst the Second World War, these humans have returned once more to reclaim their glory. But humanity would not surrender — Resistance is established by a group known as the Mensheviks. They are working to protect humanity from destruction, even from within…

What would you like to say to the readers, a word from the heart:
When you are writing, you must take into consideration that you are writing for yourself, for your own happiness and not for the sake of others. I believe in artistic independence and integrity. Throughout the centuries, the man that has taken the step forward to innovative equipped nothing but his own vision. The great creators of our time – the thinkers, the artists, the scientists, the inventors, they all stood alone against the men of their time, society, their communities. Every great new thought and new invention was opposed. His truth was his only motive. His own truth, and his own work to achieve it in his own way. I am the Howard Roark of Literature and I standby the thought of man’s pursuit for what he wants to achieve, wanting men, in my case me to write what I want to write and to produce that work that I feel is right not to serve anyone else or society but to allow human progress. The reason why I write this novel is that I wanted to express myself and the changing world that is occurring around me, each episode that I live through and the experiences that I have seen boils to formulate this story as a philosophical debate but set in a fictional realm that is different to ours. A writer must refuse to compromise with many publishing houses that are unwilling to accept innovation and in that he finds himself alone just like I do when I feel that is right and not based on what others want of me. It is in a way to encourage others to write to their hearts and produce solid work that would be the pinnacle representation of human endeavours.

The letting go phase!

“The letting go phase is tough, let go through the breakdown…
Mother & Baby, when stopping the breastfeeding and feeling guilty for weaning the baby; and baby taking the time to adjust…
Mother & Toddler, going to the daycare, when both need that break and not able to let go…
Mother and child, when the child goes to school, and then again having difficulty adjusting…
Mother and adolescent, when the teenager wishes their parents would go invisible for a while, giving them room to spread their wings…
Mother and young adult, when the boyfriend and/or girlfriend pops on board, and then we as parent, want to take charge, and have them avoid any heartbreak…
Let’s involve the dad, parent and child, they go to college, and we look around, they want to choose the country, major, and life… when none needs our opinion much, they accept it or ask for it out of respect, but…

We accept all, swallow all, digest all, until one day, they come through that door, and ask that boyfriend or girlfriend, what do you think, and then, forget to look at us for consent, and we have to accept and expect more so we don’t lose them… yes that child exists no more, and had moved on and away… Life!”
#MOI wishing that child would teach me now how to let go!
Cheers to the course of life! love you my daughters!

The “I DO” thought

“The <I do> thought is the dream of all girls, it starts at young age, it’s about the dress, the ring, the veil, the flowers, the music, the first dance, the cake, the crowd…
It’s the vision of the prince, on the white horse, the kiss, the way he held my hand, the way he grabbed me on the dancing floor…
Sometimes it goes beyond, to the dream of the house, the garden, the walk-in closet, the car…
The girls grow, reality falls in, like darkness some of their nights become lightless, and like the thunders in the skies their dreams start turning foggy and their priorities changing…

With time, the dream starts turning into reality, and the glamourous I DO turns into LET’S BE TOGETHER.
Simple, the dream of eternal love will dress a different gown, white it shall remain, but the prince becomes real, and the first dance will have a different music…

The difference between the dream of a young girl and the reality when grown, is that true love after the many heartbreaking experiences, that girl will learn that true love does not mean eternal peace, but rather standing by each other to reach it.
We, people, men, and women, are different, but we all want love, a hand to hold when we share the pillow at night, and an I DO!”

#MOI When the dream becomes about the person and not the wedding, we can simply build a home instead of a house!

The truth about that feeling…

“The truth about that feeling… I admit.

I do admit that I want Love,
I do admit that I want to be loved,
I do admit that I want to offer my love,
But… do we dare, again!

At a specific age, we look at love differently, whether offered or received,
we treat love differently.
At a specific age, we reach a point of no shyness, we learn to speak up,
to ask for what we want and what we need, and we learn to offer beyond our standard norm.
At a specific age, we appreciate time, and start being appreciative of every step.
At a specific age, we learn that love is physical, emotional, and attitude.
At a specific age, we learn that the next one should have the know-how.
At a specific age, we want to be treated the way we want, the way we deserve, and the way we like.
At a specific age, we want love, again, our way.”

The Continuity…

“The continuity…
Eventually, things will change, & hope you would like the new YOU.
Let me tell you a short story, I was discussing that point with a friend of mine the other day…
She was feeling anxious and sinking in her own life, that by the way did not change.

The people in our life are still the same, the people in our home are still the same, and the days rolling are still the same, but… the circumstances, the fear from the unknown, and the foggy tomorrow are not the same; additionally, we are not the same!
We are living the uncertain, and that changes people, it makes us sink and bounce, it makes us cry and laugh, and it makes us fear happiness!
We worry about our loved ones, we worry about their future, and we worry about our sanity!
Are we still the same… no, we are changing, we are no longer the person we were at the beginning of the outbreak.
& that is the continuity… the survival skills, the care for others’ pressure, and the care for self-concern, that is the change we have become!
Despite my will, this pandemic made of me a new Person”

#IWD2020, blogger, Book, dedication to love, equal world, romance, surprise, women

“I’m writing this post W2W, and only for women to read (as for men, feel free to peek, and surprise you lady with one of the below, as long as you can come back here, and tell us openly how she felt) funny? let’s have fun!

1. Good morning, my lady, queen of my heart!
2. Did I ever tell you how I admire the way you handle me?!
3. (Kiss her on the naked shoulder, and say) I just a flashback to the first time I saw you, how I wondered whether I can reach your heart!
4. (Give her an apple, bitten) We shared an apple but gained the tree (Wink)
5. (Bring breakfast in bed and …) I put together this movie of us, moments in pictures we spent together and words you said that made the man I am today… Let’s spend the morning in bed!
6. (Have a new dress hung on the closet with a note on your pillow) I will pick you up at 11:00 am, kids are taken care of, let us celebrate Women’s Day together
7. (The flower trick, wrist corsage) A unique flower on the wrist of the lady that will make my day different every morning, I love you in the morning…
and every minute of the day
8. (Bring her a mini item of something you promised her) I will always fulfil my dream, this house is the first step towards the bigger one
9. (Speak up in public) On this day, I want the word to know, I am lucky to have you in my life. Honey, you changed my life and I cannot imagine my days without you
10. (Squeeze her truly and spend with her a day of actions not words, literally, mime the actions, start with a kiss, a squeeze on the back, direct her to the shower, have a dress hung for her, show her which lipstick you prefer, show her the day, take her to dinner, express your love, let her guess what you are saying, discuss memories, and so on…)

Ladies, W2W, which one of us does not like to be loved, and feel special, and be reminded of our value when we sink in our daily chores and tasks.
I, personally, missed romance, and time made me look so strong, while on the inside, I could fall for the smallest acts. I reached a point of No-Trust, unfortunately, now when someone says the smallest word, and or act…, sad, I tent to disbelieve them; Yet, I know, and I am convinced that there is someone out there for everyone, whether, men or women, they are both worried and concerned about the trust issue, as pain, sometimes, it seals but never heals…

Gentlemen, make this day special, and let us give our relationship, whatever the status is, a renewal pass!

Happy International Women’s Day #IWD2020, let us celebrate this day, as romance should not disappear if we are calling for an equal world!”
#MOI Cheers to the woman inside each one of us, and to the man that cherishes our role!
