Daring does not mean living by the edge;
It means knowing that
we can do today what we failed to do yesterday!

#MOI I invite you to check the books, the characters, & their lives.
I tell you the following: if you get a chance to read my books, remember
it’s a life, not a book;
it’s a woman, not a character;
it’s a reality & not a story!

Read the books and get inspired…

Interview with Badiaa Hiresh

Hi Badiaa Hiresh, thank you for agreeing to this interview.

Oltobooks : Tell us a little about yourself and your background?
Badiaa Hiresh : Badiaa Hiresh was born in Lebanon in 1964 where she eventually lived and worked, raising her two daughters Vanessa and Tiffany. Badiaa also spent time in the USA after surviving the bitterness of the Lebanese Civil War, which gives her a unique international perspective on her home country. After working as an accountant and manager for the family jewelry business, Badiaa found herself in the field of education, helping to start a school. As well as writing, Badiaa is an advocate for peace, spending many years as a Peace Coordinator. Badiaa, the child born to a painful beginning, dreamed, and reached International by publishing three books, Where Is My Angel?; Mommy, I Am A PACER; & Life’s Detours, Alexandra’s Choices.

Oltobooks : What are your ambitions for your writing career?
Badiaa Hiresh : To inspire readers and change their life, and see my books on the big screen.

Oltobooks : When did you decide to become a writer?
Badiaa Hiresh : I wrote since I could think and hold a pen. Having lost my mom at birth, made me write to her in my mind, and speak to her to feel safe; and then came my diary.

Oltobooks : Why do you write?
Badiaa Hiresh : The topics I write about touch upon reality. I want to heal the world from pain, I want people to get over their issues and deal with them and prevent them through actions.

Oltobooks : What made you decide to sit down and actually start something?
Badiaa Hiresh : I always had that passion and imagination. When I was in Grade 2 I won the reading award and I always knew and wanted to write. So what made me decide to sit down and actually start something, well, imagine you are at school event, all mothers are there, and your mother’s seat is empty… so you fill the blank of the seats, events, life moments, etc… with words.

Oltobooks : Where do your ideas come from?
Badiaa Hiresh : From real life events, personal and those I lived, and witnessed.

Oltobooks : What is the hardest thing about writing?
Badiaa Hiresh : The hardest thing about writing is writing about yourself, and the decision of how much to say!

Oltobooks : What is the easiest thing about writing?
Badiaa Hiresh : The easiest thing about writing is the process itself, at least to me. Once I start, I keep on writing, no planning, no mapping, just words and ideas flowing!

Oltobooks : If this book is part of a series, tell us a little about it?
Badiaa Hiresh :
Where is My Angel? my biography
Once upon a time, a child was born. Between the different events, that child learned that the end in sight is more important than the beginning. My story is not unique, maybe the sequence happening to one person is. I am every woman, every story behind closed doors, every marriage, and every company. This is the story of a woman born in Lebanon with an international view on life. After losing her mother at birth, being exiled to the States and experiencing family leaving her life, Badiaa developed an inner strength that has allowed her to cope with events that would have broken someone less strong. With time, she learned to stand alone. She learned about the importance of a smile, she learned about the steps towards happiness, she learned about true friendship, she learned about inner-peace, she learned about what makes a family, and additionally, she learned to differentiate between fate and destiny. Fate came with her birth, but she knew that destiny was in her own hands.
Mommy, I Am a PACER:
Meet Abigail. Abigail is a girl who’s made a difference in her community by becoming a PACER, but what is a PACER? A PACER is a person who exhibits perseverance, agility, clarity, empathy, and respect. In this collection of short stories, each book represents one of the letters of the word PACER and its attributed characteristics. Join Abigail as she perseveres in welcoming new members into her community, demonstrates her ability to make quick and successful decisions, learns to resolve conflicts by talking openly and honestly with others, and so much more! Mommy, I’m a PACER encourages children to adopt the attitude of a PACER and teaches them how to interact with others and react positively to many different day-to-day situations.
Life’s Detours, Alexandra’s Choices
This story is about women and for women. Can broken hearts be mended? Alexandra is a dreamer, the youngest child of a large, reserved family. She longs to escape her small-town life and begins a secret life when she is nearly sixteen, singing at a small pub in the next town over. Her parents find out and give her a choice: stop singing or leave home. She leaves and soon finds herself involved with a much older man. When she discovers she is pregnant, however, her entire life changes once more. She sets out on a journey to a big city, determined to make her own choices and find her dreams, regardless of the challenges she faces. Between the life chosen for us and that we chose, we learn lessons that we forget with time. We end up sinking, derail from the right path, and then miss opportunities as we dread embarking on new waves, thanks to the depth of the wounds caused by those closest to us. But when we feel most disappointed in ourselves, we must be strong and remember we deserve happiness, justice, and success. This novel follows the life and journey of a young woman facing an unexpected pregnancy without support from anyone and choosing to chase her dreams anyway.

Oltobooks : What are your thoughts on writing a book series?
Badiaa Hiresh : I love it, I did in the 5 short stories of Mommy, I AM a PACER, it connects you with the characters.

Oltobooks : What is your favourite positive saying?
Badiaa Hiresh : Nothing will change until the day you take the first step. You are not alone!

Oltobooks : Where can you see yourself in 5 years’ time?
Badiaa Hiresh : Watching one of my books on the big screen, and in inspiration talks.

Oltobooks : What advice would you give to your younger self?
Badiaa Hiresh : Keep your diary at your fingertips and document your life!

Book Synopsis
Aksara Bhagavad Gita offers a universal interpretative paradigm to interpret any scripture  of any religion, philosophy, or ideology. The said concepts and its substantiation is brought home by crafting a story around it. Christina is a student of inter-religious studies and has come down to Sri Venkateshwara Vedic University on a student exchange program from Florida University. She befriends Haripriya in Gita study group. They share a common bond of seeking truth rather than believe blindly. A debate ensues within the group styled Dharam Rakshak, with each individual espousing their differing ideologies as the only correct version of the Gita to the exclusion of any other version. A debate ensues under the watchful eye of Justice Parthasarathy. In the debate, Haripriya presents her new paradigm which subsumes all the isms existing in the Gita or any other ideology/philosophy, and which play a determining role in interpreting of the Gita or any other scriptures/philosophy.  All her claims and hypothesis is sourced from the Gita. During the course of the debate, she substantiates all her claims and other issues that cropped up in course of the debate Her unorthodox but logical take on the subject puts Professor in a moral dilemma of being true to his belief/faith or true to his profession. He vindicates his loyalty to both by extending his legal acumen to the realm of spirituality and convening an Omni-Jury.

Word from the Author to the reader
It isn’t by chance that you are reading this but by divine game plan. An enormous responsibility has been thrust on you. You being a reader are among the privileged few who are literate, thinking animal endowed with discriminating faculties. God is one, by whatever name you may call Him. All religions are one, whatever be the nomenclature. That you practice rituals and prayers different from others doesn’t alter the above truths. God hasn’t asked you to indulging in killing one another in the name of religion or in upholding His superiority, which is independent of your fighting or otherwise of the same.  You are all privy to God’s universal message of His singularity and Universalism. You are also privy to nuances to interpretation of God’s words. Please share this with your less fortunate brothers and help discriminate between truth & untruth, Gods words & others and also the true import of His words.

Therefore, I invited authors to join me, with simple interviews to introduce them to the world, and help them get their voice heard, in the hope that one of the clicks will be the magic button to their success!

Join me to congratulate K.T. Anglehart for her book titled The Wise One, don’t forget to like the post and write your review if you have a chance to read the book that was published October 28, 2020 by Kat Biggie Press and is available via Amazon on the below link.

  • International Standard Book Number – ISBN:   978-1-7773317-0-2
  • Link to book: Canada,  US,  EU/UK
  • Genre: Teen/Young Adult Urban Fantasy

About the Author

Katrina Tortorici Anglehart is a born and bred Italian-Canadian from Montreal. A devoted academic, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism; a graduate certificate in Scriptwriting; and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. After dabbling in TV writing and working as a digital marketing content manager, she left the nine to five to launch her freelance editing and coaching career. Today, she relishes in helping aspiring authors to develop and refine their stories, including through her new podcast, Writing the Broomstick.

Besides English, Katrina speaks French, Italian, and Spanglish. When she’s not writing, diving into magical reads, or Netflixing, she’s travelling with her favourite human – her high-school- sweetheart-turned-husband, Andy – and obsessing over her pet bunny, Magic, and newly rescued pup, Nessie. Katrina currently lives in Toronto, Ontario.

  Book Synopsis

Mckenna’s never thought much of her nightmares, but on her seventeenth birthday, a vivid dream of burning at the stake awakens her dormant abilities, thrusting her into a world where faeries are real, spirits hold a grudge, and a High Priestess obsessed with a 16th-century prophecy is tracking her every move.

Now, her overprotective dads, Seán and Andre, are forced to tell her the truth—they know who her birth mother is, and her life is not the surrogate story she’s always been told. Abigail, Mckenna’s mom, is some sort of mystic, and Mckenna a Wise One. Whatever the hell that means.

With the help of a persistent little wren and company of a newfound friend, Mckenna journeys to Ireland in search of her mother and real answers. Along the way, she learns to harness her innate magic and trust her intuition, as best she can anyway—Cillian, a kind and passionate delegate who crosses her path, is proving much harder to read.

Only her mother could truly help her halt her ill fate and prepare her for what’s to come… before she gives in to the darkness she knows is buried deep within.

Word from the Author to the reader – about 150 words:

The Wise One is an urban fantasy tale for the young and young at heart. Set against the backdrop of the Northern Ireland “Troubles” in the early 90s, it combines environmental themes and historical events with folklore myth, earth-based magic, and new age concepts that spiritual teachers are imparting today. Some historical figures in this story include alleged witches Alice Kyteler, Petronella de Meath, and Elizabeth Dunlop (if you’re compelled to research these, I recommend waiting until after you’ve finished this book in order to avoid spoilers).

The locations in this book are by no means accidental. During my travels in Ireland, the spots that radiated mystery and mysticism are the places where readers will also be exploring within these pages.

Now ignore everything you just read, and sit back and enjoy the scenery!

“What if your fate was decided centuries ago?”

During the confinement, I launched my I channel on YouTube, where I conducted live interviews with over 60 guests to entertain my audience but mainly to promote online businesses and raise continuous awareness about different topics; & here is where the idea of promoting authors came from.

Therefore, I invited authors to join me, with simple interviews to introduce them to the world, and help them get their voice heard, in the hope that one of the clicks will be the magic button to their success!

Join me to congratulate Mariatu Kargbo Esq for her books, don’t forget to like the post and write your review if you have a chance to read any of the book that are available via Amazon on the link shared later and below.
