1st time, I was not expecting it…
2nd time, I felt overpowered…
3rd time, it became their way of acting…
4th time, I lost my identity…
5th time…
Then, one day, I looked around me and saw people talking to me while I was not hearing them; they were looking at me with pity & I saw those who looked up to me, allowing others to mistreat them…

The story of abuse…
It comes in many forms; if we do not set the tone and protect ourselves, we cannot save and protect others!
It is okay if once we were weak, but it is not acceptable to be weak twice, and definitely not forever!

They call for therapy, I say yes, but so many times I regretted knowing the answers to reality.

Behind the scars lies an invisible pain, and behind the scars lies a story I once lived!
If you don’t feel the pain, you will not remember what caused it…
If you don’t see the pain, you will not remember who caused it…
Pain is invisible, but it is there; pain is untouchable, but it is there; pain is an experience we lived; it was there!

Don’t ignore the scars; they may be invisible, buried deep, treated with therapy, covered with makeup, or plastic surgery…
Don’t ignore the scars; they remind you of the person you became, those you should beware of, and those you should look in the eyes and say: I made it through despite your actions!

I came across a memory of 2011 today while going through my memory box; 2011, what a year!
It was, literally, the peak heartbeat of my life and a standpoint in my career.
I saw it in 2011, beginnings and new beginnings…
Career journey: success peak, ending ovation, tears, change of jobs, the grand deception, the truth!
Life journey: success as a cook, check the event and recipe, and the three + Ds of life, Dream, Deception, Divorce, Determination, Drama, Damage, Dare, Decisions, Declarations & many more words that became the departure toward my new me!

Extraordinary how far a picture can take us… Regrets, none; I accept the outcome of every decision I made and try not to think about the stupid events that led to where I am today, from love to love.

While opening my memory box, I realized that my strength came from my ability to separate pain from my decisions while moving forward. Detaching and letting go was my gift; & for that, I thank you, Lord!

Legend has it time will heal every wound…

At times, people let go…
It could be a heart or a mind decision. I always wondered whether we forget with time or heal.
Time will heal all wounds, legend has it, physically probably, & in some cases, but… will time heal the scars? Will memories awaken our once bled wounds when similar cases arise?
