“Following a healthy lifestyle is never an option… and to me it’s difficult, simply because I love food.

I enjoy cooking, fixing new dishes, baking, trying new flavors, and best, my sampling is not bite limited, and I love mezze style.

Olives and a must with radishes, now did you ever try them on Feta cheese, how about when you are craving sweets and all you have is vermicelli, did you ever try roasting it until brown, then boiling in water; while in another pot melting butter, adding the soft and golden vermicelli, sugar, and cinnamon, mixing together and enjoying it!

Well, yes, this is one side of how I enjoy life, I guess Alexandra in Life’s Detours was fulfilling my dream as much as hers.

Anyway, I hereby, commit, and announce that I have been sticking to a healthy life lately while enjoying all I love, moderately, and soon will announce the product helping me.

“Don’t apologize if what you did was a reaction.
Let others apologize for making you act differently!

Guess what the problem is, I agree, we do not promote ego, but those who were hurt, will feel be stabbed twice,
once when they were initially hurt, and another, when they acted with a bigger heart and decided to fix the situation; not necessarily with an apology. It could be they simply decided not to hold a grudge.

What vexes me the most, we have to act as role model for our descendants and those younger and around us, especially when those who raised the red flag, go on and on, claiming their pain.

Anyway, it’s mostly a rhetorical conversation, we all lived it!

Another Christmas, home, year…

“Another Christmas, home, year… and what can I say!
Somehow, removing the tree this year was very emotional.

Flashback to the past…to exactly this day.
I used to wake up early, warm the house, and start baking and cooking.
It’s an important day in our traditions, Jesus’s Baptism.
Midnight of the night before, we put a water bottle on the balcony, we make a yeast-free dough and hang it out to ferment, we fry sweets, light candles, and open doors and windows, we pray, because heaven and sky doors and open to receive out prayers as Jesus passes by every home to bless it. The next morning, we bless the house with the water, turn off the light on the Christmas tree, and pack… to another year.

I love the season, and yes, Christmas should not be a season as much as it should a spirit, I am reminiscing on a life, not a season.
Looking back, and while removing the tree, I started seeing the many trees I had removed in my life, the packing, girls playing with their christmas toys, food, and sweets backing, coffee, and visitors, ongoing…
What happened, I guess they grew, they moved on, and today is a day I missed looking at.

I always wanted a plate, and when the plate was offered, it turned out, it the pie I wanted. The pie, is the symbol of ongoing love, ongoing effort to keep the home standing, it’s the symbol of home versus house.

As we say, my mistake, I always knew a family starts with two, and a home needs love to keep warm!”
#MOI reminiscing on this exact day throughout my life, it’s time to wipe the tears, and move on.

I was isolated behind a wall, I lived in the void,
my voice became soundless, and my picture became still…

My dignity was invisible, I walked on groundless streets…
I called your name, you didn’t hear me,
I grabbed your arm, you didn’t feel me…

I lost you, or you lost me…
we simply lived parallel to each other…
in a world lost in lust and misplaced desires…

“& day 1, 2022 ended, let’s roll the beads…
It is time to accept that the party is over, it’s time to collect our thoughts.

2022 Diary Day 2
Living with my thoughts, working on myself to accept the physical distance separating me from my daughters, I was devastated and anxious because my daughter had food poisoning and I could not be with her.
Life, I know you may say, it’s just a passing case, but I had a lot to think about; although she was well taken care of by her boyfriend, yet, it was difficult on me, the guilt feeling of not being with her.

& then the past haunted me, reflected in the post I had on Instagram to launch the year, about holding a grudge and forgiveness.
A very deep argument and dilemma knowing I always try to understand people’s actions and deal with them:
*can we let go of pain caused by others?
*can we forget a pain caused by others?
*can we ignore a pain caused by others?
Well, depending on the person that caused the pain, our relationship, and their reaction after declaring that we were hurt, this will explain a lot.

Everyone tend to forget or ignore that sometimes the cup might look empty but it would be full of emotions ready to explode!
Not every time is your time to stay silent, and swallow your pain, and pretend a specific action never happened…
Not every time you can accept to be wrongfully treated…
Not every time you have to be the cup, sometimes you have to be the content, you have to speak, revolt, react…

So, if I let go of painful events, I do that for me. I believe that people need to act toward their actions.
We cannot un-do or un-say, but we can at least face the person we hurt, yet unintentionally, we should
stand by each other for emotional maintenance.

I always say, no one is born with a cup full of pain, but not speaking up when actions stack up, will result, eventually, in a emotional outburst, unexpected, and shocking to others.

I wish I had known how to handle the past, the far past… things would have been different!”
