A peek at the end of Chapter 7 of Life’s Detours, Alexandra’s Choices

<<Let me give you this recipe for a great cookie:
get a big bowl, big enough for you to sit in;
add three scoops of care for those you care about;
add three scoops of forgiveness for those who hurt you;
add three scoops of honesty for those who need to know how you feel about what they did to you;
and add the three words “I love you” for those who need to be reassured that you love them no matter what.
You will end up with a great cookie and the yummiest of all, called friendship. Never let go of a friend, never lose hope in a friend, and never leave a friend behind.

Do you believe that people with peaceful intentions are wise or weak?
Do you think they avoid confrontations out of fear?
Do you believe in Karma?

On a personal note, it was fear at the beginning, partially still fear when it comes to personal issues, but if it touches those I love, I will wake the dormant beast, and with it, the sedated anger, and I will confront with grinding teeth…
Who am I? I ask myself at times…
Where did it all come from?
Can we ever get over the pain?
Can we heal the past?

So many questions, they pop up occasionally, to remind me, that I am better off, like Ale (Alexandra) in Life’s Detours – Alexandra’s Choices, with the path I have chosen.

“Love yourself, today and every day, day 5 tip.
What does it mean? Follow the daily tips on Instagram until the end of May.“

Be your best and own advocate!

With time, things and people will change, and you will change, & I hope you like the new YOU.

Let me tell you a short story. I was discussing that point with a friend of mine the other day.

She was feeling anxious and sinking in her life events. Her personal life had changed lately on every level, and the economic depreciation in Lebanon came to add an extra load on all of us.

I highlighted her strength for her, but she could not see how strong she was. I did not blame her, nor did I judge her. Sometimes fear is more substantial and heavier than hope. I kept on pushing her, and finally, she saw the light.

Moral of the story: people we know will remain the same, people in our homes remain the same, and the days will roll as they usually do. On the other hand, the circumstances will change and never be the same, the fear of the unknown will grow, and foggy tomorrows will take over the horizons; as for us, we are no longer the same!

Although our tolerance is much less with the life events we survive, our wisdom grows with time and experience; most importantly, we need to remind ourselves not to let people hold us back and set a growth limit to our potential.

Today’s tip on loving yourself, Be your best and own advocate. Only you can push yourself farther as you know your real potential. After all, you got yourself here, and I hope you like the new YOU!
