I had a refuge once; it began as ink on diary pages, then grew into sketches, into poetry, into the quiet corners of my mind. And when I encountered the splashes of waves crashing by the ocean shores, I found a space vast enough to hold me. It embraced my words, sealed my storms, and taught me how to breathe between waves.
My refuge was stronger than built walls, because it was invisible; a fortress built of thought, memory, and imagination. And the open seas were trustworthy and never made me fear the raging waves. The universe stretched wide and absorbed my dreams without hesitation. And the waters remained loyal, never once asking me to fear their rage.
Because time, to me, was never scaled but a clock, and the mind can travel farther than any vessel ever could.
