As I was driving out of the building, an older guy was stuck at the exit because his gate key wouldn’t work, and apparently, the building maintenance team had promised him the replacement key but did not provide it on time.
I had 15 minutes to reach my destination, and the older guy and maintenance rep started arguing; maintenance rep was begging him to pull back and let the queue pass and he refused.
Every time the maintenance rep spoke, both their voices rose higher; suddenly, the maintenance rep left for his van to contact the company; I stepped out of my car, and greeted the guy with a soft voice and a tiny smile, asking him to back up while explaining my urgency, and let us pass, he first turned his face, then looked me in the eyes and said, how can I not, when you speak in such a way!
Did I mention that during the whole few minutes, people behind me were honking like crazy…
All I am saying is that there is a different way, most of the time, to get things going; Your reaction is the key!
