I always tell people…

“I always tell people, let’s balance the scale…
I use it with my friends when we discuss partners and conflicts. I ask them to add the qualities and characteristics of their partner on the scale plates, as what works and what does not, and then estimate how much we can fix, accept, or discuss.

How about forgetting and forgiving?
Do you believe when someone says: I forgive you!
Do you believe a word can erase an action?
Can you forgive?
Let me answer first and then give you time to think about it and share your opinion if you wish!

I always tell people; I am only human; I am not God, nor am I a saint to forgive.
I let go because I want to move on with my life, not because I forgive.
I forget, probably due to age, and nonetheless the selective memory.
Additionally, human memory can carry a specific number of items, & to me, replacing poisonous thoughts and memories with happy ones is healthy.

The sad part is that forgetting does not heal the person until they face their pain again.
Years of therapy will emerge dormant and painful events that we selected to bury;
when similar memories arise, the past pops up, reopening painful memories whether we learned how to deal with pain through therapy or have isolated those events.

In summary, dear friend, balance the scale and watch your actions and words; we cannot reset time.”
