No one ever taught me how to make pancakes. The ready-mix boxes weren’t available anyway. I always cooked from scratch, using the finest ingredients, and continuously practiced. I succeeded, though my daughters never asked for pancakes. Then I started making crêpes, having them ready for whenever they wake up, stuffing them with chocolate spread, sugar, and cinnamon. Eventually, the crêpes turned into cinnamon rolls, chocolate marble cakes, brownies, and various other baked goods for every family member and their friends…
I tried, I cooked, I baked, I kept trying again and again. Sometimes the recipe worked, other times I blamed the oven or the air… Ultimately, I tried, I tried very hard, knowing there is a significant difference between motherly love and partner love, my pleasing nature was the same with everyone, but who ever made me pancakes?

Step 216 into the 2025 journey We will never forget August 4, 2020, the Beirut blast; we must ensure we remember…
They stole my dream… That Tuesday, August 4th, 2020, was a chill day. The first day after the Government Confinement due to COVID-19, all I wanted was to go to the beach and chill.
So I did, I sat under the sun… I looked up to the clear blue sky… What is happening to this world of mine… It shall heal, and reboot, I say… I miss life and my life… I miss peace and that piece of the day… When children could safely go out and play… When neighbors could really trust self & others… What if we all spoke one language, I say… What if we all had one passport, I say… What if we all had water, food, and shelter, I say… What if we all could pray our own way… What if we could love self enough to be able to love others… What if we could be good people? Good people, I miss that, I miss good people.
I stayed under the blue sky, smiling at the sun, and enjoying a fresh day… I started taking selfies and smiling, but in my heart, I was smiling, happily dreaming, until they stole my dream!

Sometimes we ignore the importance of our dreams. My friends, dream big, live big, enjoy the moment, and every moment, enjoy my non-rhyming poem, but who sets the rules?! Have a non-rhyming life, it’s those moments that flavor our day!
