A Declaration of Apology

I apologize, for not forgetting the public insult.
I apologize, for the days I was made to feel invisible.
I apologize, for the time I wasted when I could have invested in myself.
I apologize, for believing that people change.
I apologize, for offering second chances to those who never earned them.
I apologize, for thinking that love alone could hold what was already breaking.
I apologize, for seeing people the way I wish to be seen.

But I will not apologize for turning my back on yesterday.
I will not apologize for choosing myself.
I will not apologize for walking away from what wounded me.

Today, I am in no apologetic mood.
Today, I honor my anger, my disappointment, my truth.
Today, I allow myself to feel without rushing to forgive.

Tomorrow, I may rise stronger.
Tomorrow, I may soften.
Tomorrow, I may return to grace.

But today, I am human. And being human is enough.

#MOI You have the right to feel, to pause, to revisit the truth another day, because strength is not the absence of emotion, but the courage to face it.
